Who is Kurt Svendheim?

Kurt Svendheim (born 1967 in Tønsberg, Norway) is a Norwegian investor, property developer and visionary. Kurt started his interest in property at early age. He would prepare monthly budgets and financial records for his weekly allowance from his parents. Later on, at an age of 20, he put his university degree on hold when he got the chance to buy Gullingen Turistsenter, a mountain resort in the country of Suldal, Norway. Svendheim ran the lodge for a period of eight years, before he continued on into the real estate and commercial business for some of Norway’s biggest real estate firms.

In 2008, Kurt Svendheim moved to Thailand. Together with a Khun Namfon, they built up the management company New Nordic Group that together with private owners develop holiday villages and sell holiday homes to private people and investors all over the world. Here, Kurt was the general manager for the sales office, before he moved to focus more on the Group’s international developments.

Today, Kurt Svendheim is CEO of New Nordic Group International with its corporate office in Hong Kong. New Nordic Group is involved with the development of numerous projects in different countries, from development of condominiums to travel agencies, restaurants and transport services. In all developments there is a “bottom-up” approach to the management and team, where simplicity and communication is key. Svendheim has stated “We want to keep it simple, for our customers, our contractors and our staff. When we promise something to the customer, we know that fulfilling their expectations is important. When we say our apartments are delivered fully furnished, we truly mean fully furnished. Our apartments have bed sheets, towels, cutlery, fridge and microwaves to ensure that they are ready to be moved into. By making it easy for our customers, we also make it easy for ourselves. This we try to bring into every aspect of our company.”.
